Even though Ethan, had said he was alright, Jack still wanted to make it up to him. It wasn’t everyday someone hit you with their car. When the accident occurred he thought he’d killed Ethan for sure. Jack went back to the squatters encampment to check on Ethan.

“Hey, is Ethan here? I met him yesterday and I wanted to talk to him.” he asked the weary looking bartender.

“I’m Evertt…we don’t get many strangers in here. How did you say you met Ethan?” questioned Evertt as he looked Jack up and down dubiously. Assessing him, for what Jack didn’t know.

“Oh…we met on the road and I gave him a ride home.” Jack said to Evertt. He wondered what Evertt’s problem was. It was just a ride home. He worried that something had happened to Ethan, did he have a concussion after all. What if he was in the hospital now?

Evertt continued assessing Jack. Everett made Jack wonder if his face had suddenly turned green or another oddity had appeared on his body.

“Ethan is alright. He’s out in the field picking pumpkins. That’s what we do here in the fall. We’re a pumpkin patch. If he’s not there I don’t know where he is. Want me to call him?” questioned Evertt.

“No…that’s alright. You look busy, I’ll go out and find him if that’s alright with you. ” said Jack. He made his way towards the fields and was happy when Evertt didn’t stop him. He saw Ethan off in the distance picking pumpkins and loading them into a trailer.

“Ethan…” Jack called waving. Ethan picked a few more pumpkins and suşehri escort put them in his truck.

“What’s going on Jack, everything okay? Did you get lost? The roads around here can be so confusing, especially during bad weather. We have washouts and all of that.” said Ethan looking at Jack. Jack looked better in the sunlight than he had last night. Worry and tiredness had disappeared from his face and now he was smiling. Also Ethan had a clear head and wasn’t seeing double.

“Yeah, I’m okay. You know I just don’t have anywhere to go, or anything to do really and I just wanted to make sure you’re okay. I couldn’t stand going away from here and then finding out later that you…dropped dead. So you’re alright?” Jack asked. He brushed his long copper hair out of his eyes.

Ethan smiled at that simple action. Did Jack know how much Ethan was turned on by that?

“Well, I’m not dead, just out here loading up pumpkins. Every season it’s something different you know? Apples in the spring, corn in the summer, pumpkins in the fall. Then we always have our sheep and goats. We mainly raise them. But, that’s my life. I like working outdoors…gives me time to think and room to breathe. If you know what I mean. But, you’re a city person SO you wouldn’t.” stated Ethan as he continued looking at Jack and smiling.

“I’m not a city person. I’m not a country person. I guess you could say I’m a road person. When I was a kid, I was in foster care. I never stayed in one foster home too taksim escort long. I don’t have any consistent friends or family. That has it’s benefits and it’s drawbacks. Anyways, when I was sixteen I bought this RV with cash from my job at McDonalds and started out on the road. I ran away because I really had nothing else to do. I didn’t want to stay in any foster home anymore SO I just left and never looked back. Now I go wherever I want and do whatever. I mean I know I’ll never be a neurosurgeon or a senator but I like my freedom. I can go where I want and do what I want. It gives me time to think too, you know.” stated Jack. He kept looking at the shirtless Ethan who was still loading pumpkins into the tractor.

“What are you doing right now?” questioned Ethan.

“I don’t know. But, I have to find a place to stay for awhile. My RV needs some repairs, she was old when I got her and that was five years ago now. I don’t see how she’ll make it through another winter without some servicing. So I guess it’s a big city for me. Denver isn’t too far from here, only about six hours. I can probably find something there. But, don’t worry about me right now. I want to make sure you’re okay, Ethan. So promise me that you’re not lying to me and you’re alright. Shake on it?” questioned Jack extending his muscular arm.

“I promise you I’m alright, Jack. Just a little sore, nothing that a couple of aspirin and a few days rest won’t fix.” stated Ethan as he shook Jack’s hand. He liked Jack but felt tala escort sorry for him. Jack had no home, no family. He was just a wanderer. Ethan had a difficult relationship with his pack. They all saw him as untraditional, which he was, but at least he had a pack. Even Ethan didn’t know why he suggested it.

“Hey Jack, you know anything about husbandry?” questioned Ethan.

“What?” asked Jack.

“Husbandry…animal raising. We’re always looking for ranch hands to help with our sheep and goats. If you want you could stay here.” stated Ethan as he hoped Jack would take the job. It was true that the farm always needed workers but he also wanted Jack to stay…at least for a little while.

“Oh…I wouldn’t know anything about raising animals. I should just go to Denver…Starbucks or MaDonald’s again you know, that’s how it goes.” stated Jack as he got ready to go. Best get to Denver and start looking for a job.” Jack told Ethan as he got ready to go.

“I’ll teach you though Jack, you can stay here, live in one of the cabins and repair your RV. I feel like if I let you back on the road, and you hit someone else, it would be my fault. They might not be as strong as me, since you hit me I guess I’m asking for you to stay. I want you to be okay too. So…uhmm stay please? Husbandry isn’t that hard.” begged Ethan.

Jack took a long hard look at him. Then he thought “What the fuck!” This ramshackled town and the man whom he had hit was offering him a job. Who knew what—if anything, he would find in Denver.

“Deal. I’ll stay and learn a new skill…raising animals.” said Jack.

“Great…pull your truck up. You can stay in the cabin next to mine.” stated Ethan. He loaded a few more pumpkins and then helped Jack settle into the cabin.
